Tobias Music in Downers Grove, IL, is the premier guitar shop in the Chicago area. Serving the Chicago metropolitan area since 1978. We specialize in premium guitar sales and guitar and amp repair. I was looking for a specific LH 12-string. Tobias Music had the exact one I wanted listed on their website. The day I called, they stated they had just sold the one they had advertised that morning. So, they asked for my phone number and said they would call me as soon as they got another one in stock. Sure enough approx 4-5 weeks later, as promised, I got a call from Tobias Music. I’ve only been here once for about 30 minutes but that’s all I needed to get a good sense of what this place is. I went in for a truss rod alignment (I couldn’t get it to budge and wanted to be safe) and to look at a few guitars while there. They fixed my guitar while Paul Tobias showed me a bunch of Taylors and taught me all about guitar construction. Everyone there is super down to earth and welcoming. As opposed to other shops, it’s clear that everyone there knows what they’re doing and actually love doing it. I’ll surely be back again soon. Highly recommend!
